An American soldier, killed three weeks before the end of World War I, is one of 14,246 Americans buried at the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial in France. The cemetery, located east of the village of Romagne-sous-Montfaucon in Meuse, contains the largest number of American military dead in Europe (14,246), most of whom lost their lives during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive and were buried there.
